Project advising for nonprofits and social enterprises
Some work has a beginning, a middle, and an end — a strategy that needs testing, a program that needs designing, a transition that needs managing, a launch that needs planning. What it needs is someone who's done this before and can help you move through it without burning time figuring out what you don't know yet.
How I work
I come in at the start of a defined project and stay through completion. Research and due diligence, stakeholder engagement, operational and strategic planning, written deliverables and recommendations.
Mostly remote and asynchronous. I work with your team without adding to your meeting load. In person as needed: facilitation, stakeholder sessions, site visits.
I'm most useful to mission-driven organizations navigating growth, transition, or building something they haven't built before, where the mission and the business model both have to work.
Why me
I co-founded and led Food Connects, a Vermont food systems social enterprise, to $5M in annual revenue. I've advised on food hub feasibility and community food infrastructure in the Connecticut River Valley. I'm currently Executive Director of the Vermont Wilderness School.
I've built and led organizations on both the nonprofit and for-profit sides, and made the operating decisions I'd be helping you think through.
